Everyday ROSÉ Wine
It's always rosé season! These pink beauties would be most welcome at our Thanksgiving table.
This week's selection:
2019 Cinsault Rosé Pays d'Oc (Le Petit Balthazar) - France $10
Intense aromas of blueberry, grenadine and strawberry with herbs and sweet grass. Smooth on the palate. Fresh, round and fat. Long, fruity finish. Serve chilled as an aperitif or at the table with shellfish, white meats and red fruit salads. For year-round enjoyment!
2019 Scaia Rosato (Tenuta Sant Antonio) - Italy $15
100% Rondinella grapes, with a light cerise color and aromas of rose and raspberry. Well-balanced, tangy and fresh.
2019 Secateurs Rose (Badenhorst) - South Africa $15
Red fruits, spice, rose, and rich texture. Secatuers are the shears used to prune grape vines in the dormant season, a signal of the Badenhorst commitment to farming, which is done organically and - amazingly -without irrigation.
2019 Languedoc Rosé (Chateau de Flaugergues) - France $16
Expressive fruity aromas of blackcurrant and raspberry. Fresh, elegant and smooth. Light and delicate with hints of sweet-tart strawberry and raspberry and a little spice on the long
2018 Jeune Rose (Musar) - Lebanon $23
Cinsault and Mourvedre. A pale, coral hue with aromas of pomegranate, pink grapefruit, rose petals and honeysuckle. The palate has floral notes with hints of mandarin, green apples and rosewater. Light and elegant yet has a rich mouthfeel with good acidity and light tannins. Serve gently chilled as an aperitif - with mezze, grilled tiger prawns or simply a bowl of green olives and roasted almonds. Organic.
2019 Patrimonio Rose Niellucio (Clos Alivu) - Corsica $24
Bright onion skin color. Incisive, mineral-accented strawberry, peach and orange zest scents are comple- mented by a suave lavender flourish. Silky, seamless and focused on the palate, offering vibrant red berry and citrus fruit flavors and a sweetening touch of honey. Finishes impressively long and seamless, with a lingering pit fruit quality and strong mineral cut.
